Did You Know You Can Outsource Sales? (And It Actually Works)

When people think about outsourcing, they usually think of finance, admin, or marketing. Sales rarely makes the list. It's like the forgotten sibling of the business world, important, but somehow always left out.

But here’s the thing: you absolutely can outsource sales – and for a lot of businesses, it makes a massive difference.

Most growing businesses hit a point where sales become a bottleneck. Not because they’re not good at what they do, but because:

  • They’re too busy to stay on top of leads consistently
  • The founder is still doing it all, including sales
  • They’re great at delivery but don’t enjoy the sales part
  • There’s no clear process, just reacting when things go quiet

This is where external support can change the game.

Outsourcing sales doesn’t mean handing it off to someone with a headset and a script. It means bringing in someone who understands your business, your clients, and how to represent you well. Someone who becomes part of your team, without needing to sit in your office or raid your snack drawer.

It looks like consistent follow-up. Thoughtful outreach. Keeping your pipeline moving. Creating breathing room so you can focus on delivery, knowing that the front end of the business isn’t being neglected.

It also means you don’t have to hire a full-time salesperson, train them, manage them, and hope they stick around longer than your office plant.

More businesses are tapping into this kind of support and not just because it saves time. It brings structure. Momentum. Relief.

So if sales is something you want to be happening but never quite make time for, it might be worth asking: what would change if someone else could drive that for you? (And yes, it’s allowed. Promise.)

If you ever find yourself thinking, "We just don’t have time for sales," you’re in excellent company. In fact, I’d be rich if I had a dollar for every time a business owner said that to me. (I’d at least have a solid coffee fund.)

Let’s be honest: for a lot of people, sales feels a bit… awkward. Like turning up to a BBQ and realising it's a formal dinner party. In thongs.
